With the following links you may download the complete Randolph Glacier
Inventory 1.0 or regional subsets. The latest version of the RGI is
recommended for all new research.
MD5 checksums are provided for
each file as a way to check the integrity of the file after download or
media migration. They are only used to make sure a file didn't get
corrupted, and are not needed to process or view the data.
The Randolph Glacier Inventory, a global inventory of glacier
outlines, is made available under certain transitional usage constraints.
It is intended for the estimation of total ice volumes and glacier mass
changes at global and large-regional scales. It is supplemental to the
Global Land Ice Measurements from Space initiative (GLIMS). Production of
the RGI was motivated by the Fifth Assessment Report of the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC AR5) and was released
initially with little documentation in view of the IPCC's tight deadlines.
For purposes other than those described above, use of RGI should be cleared
with the contributors of the outlines. Please do not distribute RGI. If you
know of other potential users, encourage them to register at this web site.
This version of the RGI is provided for archive purposes. The latest
version should be used for new research.
